We had a great Thanksgiving this year... as we always do! This year we went with Preston's family. We all gathered at Grandma Lynada's house. The food was fantastic, the company was awesome and the nap after... even better! Preston and I have had a great year. We've had stressful times (thank you pharmacy school stuff) but over all, we have been very very VERY blessed. I am most grateful for our jobs right now. Both of our companies went through lots of lay-off's and Preston and I managed to stay employed. We have amazing families who we love more than anything, we have fantastic friends who we have a blast with whenever we see any of them. Most of all, we're grateful to Heavenly Father, we know without him, life wouldn't be anything. He blesses us so much. As I sit here typing away as it's 13 degrees outside, I have my comfy slippers on, my warm clothes, my washer and dryer running, the heater on, our christmas lights glittering our apartment and I am comfortable, safe and warm and we have so many comforts of life. We have so much to be grateful for. I know this time of year is when we really reflect what we have to be grateful for... I try to do it all year long but it's true, this time of year really brings it out in everybody. I'm grateful for Preston who works and studies LONG long hours... for me... for us! He's amazing and I don't know how he does it. I sure do love him! I can go on and on, but I'll bring you pictures. Since I know that is what everybody comes on here for anyway.






The day after Thanksgiving was the big game... UTAH vs byu... I wont get into any details because I'm not too happy about the game. Anywho, I just wanted to show the "presidential hogi" my dad made for the game. This sucker is HUGE. Also, a cute picture of Lili and Cadence.

I know this will make two posts in a row with nothing on us and random videos. But when I saw this video, I got teary eyed and couldn't pass it up. This kind of stuff totally melts my heart. So sweet!!

Fall= Birthdays and Hockey!

Preston's birthday was a blast. As I said in my previous post, I took him to the Hilton this past weekend for a little "getaway" It was just something fun and different. Before we got to the hotel, we drove around in the avenues and ended up in SL cemetery. As some of you may know... I have such an interest in cemetery's. I don't know what it is, but I love them! They're so interesting... seeing how old some of the graves are and especially up at the SL cemetery, there are TONS of prophets and apostles. Guess whose we came across? The Hinckleys... Wow! Super cool to see it. I was so excited to see President Hinckley's grave next to his sweet little wife! We saw like 5 other of the prophets and quite a few of apostles from back in the day.

Alright, something I'm pretty proud of! I made my first official sewing project. This cute little dress for my cute little niece. It looks adorable on her! My mother in law is awesome at sewing and can literally make anything that involves fabric! She was my teacher... she's a great one!

Most of you will know that Hockey is a BIG thing in the Vielstich family. BIG! I was born into Hockey and married into Football so I really like both sports and lots of you might thing I'm more of a football fan because I'm married to one a football player and because it's on all the time in our household unless I can catch the Hockey game that is on TV. We LOVE hockey! My brother has been playing for like 7 or 8 years now? I'm not sure. But now he's playing highschool Hockey... for the Colts. He is pretty dang good out on the ice and to make it even more cooler, his number is 99... our mini Gretsky!

Happy Birthday to my LOVER!

On Thursday was my amazing hubby's birthday! I just wanted to give a little shout out to him! We had a nice night together on his birthday. I made him steak and baked potatoes (his favorite) and we had ice cream cake! I gave him a couple things he wanted out of Eastbay (a magazine with sports stuff) and a little certificate that entitled him to one night at the schwanky 4 star Hilton downtown with a dinner of his choice! We're doing that tonight into tomorrow. It'll be really fun and relaxing. He's quite excited for it. Last weekend we did his birthday and his mom's birthday by going to dinner and hanging out with his fam! (Prestons mom's birthday is on the 6th and Preston's is on the 8th) It was a lot of fun with his family. This Sunday we're celebrating it with my family and I know that will be fun. There is never a dull moment with my family. What a lucky guy... a full week of birthday celebrations! He deserves it though!

I love my lover boy! He works so hard for us and our future. He has been working full time while doing school full time while squeezing hours of homework in there. It gets hard not seeing him very much but I know he's doing it for us and our future and he does great at it. He gets awesome grades and has such a good attitude and is so motivated every day. He starts his day at 5 by going to the gym and doesn't get home until 9:30 or 10 Mon-Thurs. He's a busy boy! He takes such good care of me and is always willing to help anybody at the drop of a dime. He loves our families, he has such a strong testimony in the church and is such a great example to me! He is so kind and so patient... he rarely gets mad or upset and lets things roll off his back like it was nothing (something I need to be better at) He still has his passion for sports. No matter what sport is on tv... it's playing on our tv. He's playing football again this year (he's played every year since he was 10). Just one more thing to tie up his time. But I love watching him play and he's so good at it! In the middle of this, we've been in the process of applying for Pharmacy schools and next week is his entrance exam test... cross your fingers for him! He's beein studying for that and feels ready for it! I just flat out LOVE him! He's always been such a gentlemen and cracks me up like no other! I'm by far the luckiest wife out there... sorry ladies!


Alright! So much for a little shout out... kind of a big one! haha. I could go on and on about him! But Happy Birthday Preston!

Guys Night, Drumline and Dutch Oven!

It's been a fun few weeks. For 1, my cousin Josh made it through Boot Camp for the Marines. He came home after camp for 10 days. We had a big family get together for him and it was so good to see him! One of the nights while he was home, I had him and my brother Chris over for a "guys night" haha. Chris and Josh have been best buddies since they've been little tykes. Growing up, us sisters (Heidi and I and Josh's sisters) would want nothing to do with our annoying little brothers when we were all hanging out. But now, it's opposite. It's funny what growin up will do to ya :) It was a lot of fun having them over. We had pizza and watched Blades of Glory. I teased them when they first came over that I was going to dress them up like girls and paint their nails and do their make up. I of course got a quick NO! Then they said, since it's "guys night" how about you dress up like a guy. So... I did! ha! Went and changed from my clothes to Prestons.
Haha... there ya go.

It was fun hanging out with those two. I love my little Chrissy-poo and Joshy-poo!

Chris has been on Skyline's drumline. They had their homeocming game last weekend and they had a part in the half time show. It was really fun to see him doing what he does best. My brother is so talented at the drums. So talented that he transfered schools (long story, but good decision and no, Chris isn't in trouble) he's now at Cottonwood and the Skyline band teacher still wants Chris in his drumline. Chris will probably play in most of the Skyline games. He's looking forward to play in the drumline for when Cottonwood has their homecoming game against Skyline! My pictures aren't the best because I had to try to zoom in quite a bit and I guess my camera doesn't like when it's zoomed in a lot! But here's what I got.

Last weekend Dad and I competed at the fair in Dutch Oven. It was so much fun and wow, there was some good food being cooked. There were 15 couples competing. We were there from noon till about 8:30 pm. We had from 2-6 to cook and the judging took place at 6. We did really well. We didn't win a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place but we did win... "PEOPOLES CHOICE"!!! There were so many people from the public (a few hundred I'd say) that got to come taste everything after the judges were done. We had friends and family come support us so it was a lot of fun and we came away with a prize. My dad is the pro at the Dutch Oven. I was just the chopper, dish washer and run around for my dad but it was still so much fun! For our main dish, we cooked cornish game hen chicken, for our bread we made a cheesy twist bread and our dessert was Oma's german plum struessel cake. They were all a big hit!

Some of you have heard that our list for Pharmacy schools have changed. There was a mix up with the classes SLCC offers which changed the list. But we're really happy with the new list and feel really good about them. We're planning on applying to Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, DC and Pittsburgh.

Labor Day weekend in Yellowstone!

I'm not going to do much typing because I have LOTS of pictures of this place. Yellowstone is beautiful. I can never get over all the different things to see. It was perfect weather. We camped in an awesome camp ground in the park, by Yellowstone Lake. We got a little of rain which made everything smell soo good and fresh. We went with my family and had a blast. We missed Christ, Heidi, Chase and that cute little baby Cade. But we still had a blast! Check it out!
This is inside the Old Faithful Lodge... The coolest lodge ever. Those little rooms up in the ceiling is where bands would play back in the day.
