Bear Lake, Camping, Trouble

This past weekend, we went camping at Bear Lake with Shawn and Katie! It was a blast. Never a dull moment when we're all hanging out. We had a nice campground (thanks to Katie for reserving it early for us) and it was perfect weather with some rain the last night! We had some intense games of "Trouble" we played that game over and over, it was so funny that whenever we were at the campground that's all we pretty much did was play Trouble! So fun! We roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. Pigged out on snacks and of course played at the lake all day on Saturday. We all got some good sun! It was Raspberry days while we were there so we walked around a little fair they had going on there and got invaded by a bunch of drunk guys with machettis (however you spell that) at our first spot at the beach, we got lunch at a way good pizza place and went back to the beach! It was a blast! Here are some pictures of our fun weekend! Burning army men! muahahaha
Nothin better than roasting marshmallows!
Making our hole we were going to be buried in!Haha we're all so cool!Okay, so I look like a loser! But we found these hilarious hats at the fair!
We took a tour of this lighthouse! Quite... short. But it was on the side of the road and free (it had better be free, you walked up like 20 stairs) Just somethin to do!Here we all are at the beach! So nice!

Here we are "gettin into trouble" As you can see, it was pretty intense!

Corry Reunion!

Every year during the second weekend in July is the BIG Corry reunion and when I say big... Over 200 people show up at this reunion every year. It is always a blast and I'm bummed out whenever I have to miss it! Preston and I went the year we got engaged/married. Everybody brings the person they're going to marry before they get married to be approved by the Corry family it's pretty funny. Whenever somebody brings a bf or gf we know that the next year they'll be married. Unfortunately for some reason we couldn't make it last year when we were married but we went this year and I LOVED IT! We didn't go the whole time but got there early Friday just in time to help with the HUGE 2 hour work project everybody works on. There are various projects we work on for those two hours from cutting down old wood and adding it to the wood pile, fixing the fence, killing thissleburries (whatever those are called) Fixing up the basketball court, the stage, the horseshoe pits, the bathrooms, cleaning... and whatever else might need to be worked on! The cool part is, we all get paid for doing it! We'd do it for free but it's a fun little incentive! The Corry family is like a business too, they have stocks through Corry Enterprise and what not, Pretty cool! Anywho, after the work project was the horse shoe tournament, it's always fun to watch/play because everybody gets SOO into it but it's all in fun! During the tournament we got a major downpour of rain which was great. It smelt so good and we haven't seen rain in a while and it made it so everything wasn't so dusty and it made it fun taking a nap in the tent. I love being in tents when it rains! That night we had dinner and it's always such good food! We were on for helping with that meal so we helped with dishes! Then everybody hung around for a while and played games until the testimony meeting which is always amazing, the spirit is so strong. The people in this family are amazing. Everybody is so genuine and so kind and loving and giving! THEN it poured again so after the testimony meeting instead of playing games for hours on end around the camp fire we all scattered to our tents. We have a big pavilion we gather under but it was raining so hard and it was so windy you got went hangin out in the pavilion. So we went back and dad and lili came in our tent to play some card games! I was worried our tent wouldn't make it through the night but it did! Come to find out, we were lucky, there were about 4 tents that collapsed during the night! Saturday morning we had a delicious french toast breakfast with eggs and bacon and hot chocolate! It got really cold Friday night, but it cleared up really nice for most of Saturday we got a game in of Frisbee golf before the talent show with about 20 people throughout the whole property. The property is 140 acres up Cedar Canyon (just so ya know) then during the talent show it got pretty rainy again. We decided to head out so we wouldn't get stuck in the mud somewhere going down the mountain, Preston and I drove down with lili and dad and everybody pretty much leaves Saturday anyway. It was SO MUCH FUN! I love that family and Preston loves it there too and we always have a blast! Sorry this is a novel! But I just had to tell you all about it! Here are pictures!

Craft Time!

I haven't been the most crafty person my whole life but our ward does a new craft every month and I have LOVED what we've been doing and I've been proud of my work because it's something I DID! I'm getting an eye for craft stuff more and more thanks to these projects! I had these pictures on my computer for a friend who was wanting to copy these ideas so I thought I'd post a blog and share my fun crafts! Sorry it's a bit blurry! But this is the newest one we've made! This was one of the projects for our Christmas in July that was last week. I invited my mom to come with me and hers said "enjoy the journey"

This is the project we made in June. It came with 3 stands and 3 stars so I made one for both of my mom's. Obviously this one is for July and in Fall time we're going to make fall leaves to go on the stand then Christmas time it'll be Christmas trees and Valentines will be hearts. And they haven't decided yet what we'll put up after that!

This one is my favorite project we've done. The "O" in HOME is changed out. For spring I have a ladybug, summer it's this watermelon and September when it's back to school time it's an apple october it's a witch, November it's a pumpkin, December it's a tree ornament, Jan it's a snowman February it's a heart March it's an easter egg April is a flower... I think, I can't remember and May you go back to the ladybug! Cute huh?!

4th Of July festivities!!!

I can't believe it's July already! Where is this year going?! Well, for the 4th of July weekend we both had the 4th off so it was a fun but very busy weekend! Thursday night (the 3rd) is the traditional South Salt Lake fireworks. And let me tell you! That show is by far the best firework show out there. It compares to Sugar House (even news people have been saying that) This year, they made the firework budget bigger so the show was noticeably better than last year! The finale was no lie, probably close to 10 minutes long! It was awesome! So awesome that it about burnt down the football field. They had some ply wood up on the bleachers that was next to the announcers box that got caught on fire. But of course they have like all of South Salt Lake fire trucks there so they got it out in no time! It was so fun to see everybody. It's a mini high school reunion. I saw a bunch of friends from High School (who I MISS, and if any of you are reading this, let's get together!) It made the night so much better when I saw my best friend from Sophmore year and partly into Jr year there. She has been living in Hawaii for about 5 years now and last I talked to her was about 2 years. We just lost contact. Well, she's back here to live now with her husband and her cute little boy! I have missed her and it was so fun to catch up and see her! My friend who used to work with me, Candice, and her husband and adorable twins came too! And of course, all of my family and Preston's family. My brother was working on his Eagle Project there and had a booth for Donar Awareness. It was a big success and it was fun helping him! He is still going to do a Bees game or something to get more hours in and more awareness to be a donor out there! Well, enough of my rambling, here are some fun pictures of the fun night!

This is myself and Sophie-Jo... my friend that moved back from Hawaii!

Lili stabbing Preston! Can't you tell it's hurting him? haha
Here we are baskin in the sun, saving seats, people watching and saying hi to friends who come by!
Mom and lili... Love them both!
Preston's awesome family! His sweet grandma, her boyfriend Bill, his fantastic mom and dad and the one and only, Jess!

On the 4th of July Preston and I got up bright and early and met up with my dad, my brother and Jacob (who is pretty much a kid in the family!) We went up to Brighton and went on a nice hike. It was a short 1 mile one way hike! It was SO nice up there. Everything so green and the temperature was probably 20 degrees cooler than down in the valley. We found out that while we were up there, The place we hiked at was the first Pioneer day when Brigham Young and the pioneers were here. On the plaque it told where Brigham Young's campsite was and the games they played. It was cool to find that out! There was still snow up there. So we played in the snow on the 4th of July! We would throw snow balls at eachother throughout the hike and it felt so good! After the hike, we went home and took a nap and then went to Preston's parents for a BBQ and then met up with some of Preston's friends and went to the Clearfield fireworks. It was a fun but very tiring day! Saturday we had a "relax" day. We slept in, then we went to the Bountiful temple and after the temple we came home and got Papa Murphy's take 'n bake pizza (the best ever!) and watched Casino Royale. It was nice to just relax that night. Sunday we went to a baby blessing for my friend Brianna's baby! Then after that, we went up to Preston's grandmas house for her birthday and ate lots of food and played Signs with everybody, that game is so fun! Well, That was our eventfull weekend! I'm still worn out from it haha but it was awesomely fun! I'll put my patriotic part in... I love America! Proud to live here and love all our freedoms! Preston and I have such a great life and great families who we love SO much and the most amazing friends! And Preston is THE BEST EVER!!! I couldn't ask for a better husband! Alright. I'm done! Except for the couple of pictures of the hike! I hope you all had a great holiday!
Check out that view! And how green everything is!

Jacob playing in the snow!

Here is the leader of the pack!Chris, Jacob and dad... the 3 amigos... usually it's 4 but the numero 4 is in the MTC!
This is the lake we hiked to! Check out that snow!
Just me, chillin! It got a little chilly up there. We got some cloud cover and a tiny bit of rain, even though it was chilly it felt great!
Mr. DeWalt and the "Walking stick of Justice" haha don't ask me where he came up with that for his walking stick!

Alright, this has got to be the longest post I've ever posted! I hope you all enjoy! Adios!
