Viva Las Vegas!!!

Last weekend, Preston and I went to Vegas for a night. We had a plaque dedication for a Rhoades pioneer ancestor in Minersville on Saturday early afternoon which was awesome (left my camera in the car so I don't have pictures of that) But it was really neat. They didn't know for many many years where this ancestor was buried but they found the cemetary and they think they know where in the cemetary he is so the Rhoades family went in and made this really nice plaque for Thomas F. Rhoades. So.. how we got to Vegas. We thought since we were about 3 1/2 hours from Vegas in Minersville that we'd make a quick little trip to Vegas for that saturday night. I got us a cheap room at a marriott in St. George, we decided to stay there because it was a lot cheaper than staying in Vegas. So here come lots of pictures from our fun night! We got back to our room in St. George around 3:30 am. So we got some good time in Vegas! It was VERY hot as you can imagine! So we look clammy and my hair looks nappy, so don't mind that part! Get ready for the loads of pictures!When we first got there we met up with Preston's cousin Shane and his wife Eliza and we had dinner with him at the Bellagio Buffet. It was delicious! So much variety! It was really fun to hang out with them. They live in Syracuse and had a babysitter for the kids for a couple of nights so I'm sure it was nice for them also!This was my frist plate! Check out those king crab legs! And you can never go wrong with delicious raw fish haha.

Like I said about our clammy faces and my nappy hair! But here we are in front of the bellagion fountains!On top of the Stratosphere. It was super windy but so cool. I forget how amazing that view is!

And then, on the way home we decided to take the scenic route! It was well worth the longer drive! We both love road trips so we loved this part. Everything was so green and fresh and it smelt so good driving through the canyons. All of the lakes are so full and blue! It was a beautiful drive home!

Navajo Lake. On the other side of the lake is the road we take for the Corry family reunion we're going to next month!! That lake is SO full!

Little Ballerina

A couple weeks ago, my little sister lili had a dance recital. She does Ballet and she loves it and is so good at it! She was so fun to watch and had a smile on her face the whole time! Here is a picture of me and the cute little dancer!

Summer time fun!

A couple weeks ago, Preston and I went to the zoo with Shawn and Katie! It was so fun, the animals were really active and it wasn't 100 degrees yet so it was awesome! Here are some pictures! The creepy albino alligator Here we are with the elephants... their not too attractive side! Lunch Time!! Even the lazy Rhinos were active and splashin in the mud. We watched the bears forever. They were pouncin all over eachother and playing, it was so fun! Giraffe's are so cool! Cute baby giraffe!




Last month, Preston and I renewed our lease for another year, we looked into buying a house and almost put in an offer when we found out Preston wont be able to work when he is in Pharmacy school and there is a pretty good chase we'll be moving out of state for pharmacy school so we decided to not get our heads into a mortgage when we wont be able to afford it in about a year and just have to sell anyway, so we are staying at our apartment, Its in a great area, close to our works, the management here is great and its a good apartment and fits us well, but we were soo sick of the white walls so I asked if we could paint and they said we could! I was so excited and the next week got all the stuff and we took a Saturday and painted! Its so nice and really warms up the place and it feels more homey! Here are the pictures!

Memorial Day weekend

What a rainy weekend! Long weekends are the best! Today (Tuesday) at work I keep thinking its Monday, so its nice when I then remember its Tuesday! Our Memorial weekend was nice! Saturday we took a long drive to "explore" 5 hours later we finally get home haha. It was long but it was fun! Preston could drive all day every day exploring every single road that he doesn't know where it leads to! That night we hung out with Shawn and Katie.. we watched Juno, ordered pizza and got LOTS of pop hahaha. Then we of course had to get our halo time in! Its always fun with those two! Sunday was the usual Sunday, church, (primary) then we went to my parents for a yummy dutch oven dinner my dad made then went up to Oma's and Opa's. We have some German relatives visiting from... well, Germany haha So we went to see them on Sunday! Then monday... got a nice long sleep in! It was fun that it was all rainy outside and that we didn't have to work and I could just cuddle up in bed and watch tv haha. Then I actually went to the gym on a day off! I'm really getting motivated now to work out since Tahoe is just around the corner and swimsuit season is here! We then had yet another Vielstich gathering (imagine that!) at My aunt and uncle's house (Criag and Annette) It was pouring rain most of the night so we all crammed in their house to eat! It was fun, then Nichole and Chuck came over and we played.... take a guess! More Halo! haha can you tell we love that game!
Well, it was a nice long fun weekend! But coming back to work always sucks! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!
